Look for places early! Contact us at BOBOakland25@gmail.com if you would like the housing committee to help you find a place to stay with friends or friends of friends (or to offer an opinion on a particular hotel or Airbnb).

Oakland can sound scary for those that haven’t been here and only see crime stories in the news. It is true that you should not be careless about your belongings and that there is a lot of homelessness due to lack of affordable housing. But it’s a lovely place to visit – we promise!

Average cost of a hotel that you want to stay in will be between $150-$200/night. You might find a cheaper deal – just make sure it’s with a reputable brand (e.g. Marriott).
